Re: Covid-19 Re-Opening Update

We are pleased to announce that we plan to start running our day excursions programme as of 19th July 2020. Some dates will have been revised and some trips will have been removed due to social distancing and the fact that some venues have yet to re-open or are not currently accepting group bookings. With that in mind we have tried to choose trips with no (or minimal) indoor venues and which have less travelling time therefore reducing the time spent on the coach.

How are we going to manage social distancing on the coaches? On boarding the coach, the driver will not leave his/her seat to welcome you aboard and will be behind a Perspex screen for your/their safety. Every passenger will be required to wear a facemask and will be required to wear it for the duration of time they are on board the vehicle. If you do not have a facemask you will be asked to purchase one for £1 before boarding. Unfortunately, refusal to wear a facemask will result in refusal of travel.

A hand sanitiser dispenser will be available as you board the vehicle and again we request that you use this each time you board.

Seats will be allocated at the time of booking and we will only be allocating window seats (26 passengers maximum). We request that you sit in your booked seat until the driver has finished the pick-up route completely, this will ensure that anyone walking along the aisle will at all times be at least 1 metre from anyone already seated. Once the vehicle is underway, if you are travelling with another member of your household you will be able to move across the aisle to sit with them but if you are travelling with a friend from another household you will be required to remain in your allocated seat at all times.

On arrival at your coffee stop or destination please remain seated until the driver instructs you to begin disembarking from the coach (starting from the front to the back) keeping a distance of 1m between each person at all times.

On returning to the coach, if there is a queue please observe the minimum social distancing rules and we ask that you follow the same boarding instructions as when you boarded at your pick-up point.

Before arriving at the first drop off point on the return journey, if you have moved from your booked seat to sit with your partner the driver will request that you return to your booked seat before passengers begin disembarking. In the past our company policy has been that drivers should assist passengers as they disembark the coach whenever possible or deemed to be necessary. In order to comply with Covid 19 regulations, we are sorry but the driver WILL NOT be able to leave his/her seat to assist you from the coach. I trust you understand this decision and please take great care when disembarking the coach.

We will be sending out instructions with each booking confirmation to re-confirm the details above.

As we are sure you can appreciate, instructions from the Government may change at any time, therefore the above guidelines are correct at the time of printing/sending but may alter at short notice.
We do hope you will have a look at our new day excursions programme which we plan to send out on a monthly basis and that there will be some trips that you would like to book.

Lodge & Sons Limited are fully protected for the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of all the monies paid to us, including repatriation if required, arising from cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of J. There is no requirement for Financial Protection of day trip, and none is provided. This insurance is only valid for packages booked that DO NOT include flights.

CONSUMER AWARE: JW Lodge & sons Ltd are members of the bonded coach holiday group of the Confederation of Passenger Transport UK Ltd. This is a government approved consumer protection scheme. This ensures that in relation to the coach package holidays described in this brochure that the clients monies are protected by a bond which may be called upon in the unlikely event of the members insolvency. The insurance has been arranged by T&G (Travel & General Insurance Services Ltd) with Towergate Chapman Stevens.
